CIU with Telenor Pakistan conducted training on digital skills for Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University

Responding to the growing need for ICT skills caused by COVID-19 pandemic, the Creative Innovative Unit  in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan successfully conducted a one day online webinar on digital skills for the students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University under their flagship programme ‘’Girls Learn Women Earn’’. At-least 70 students attended the webinar where the trainer, Madeeha Parvez from Telenor virtually conducted the workshop.

The purpose of training is to train at-least 500 unskilled women on digital skill training that will empower and encourage women to engage in entrepreneurial activities.

Bilal Jabbar, project director CIU stated that “We hope this joint activity with Telenor Pakistan we will have an enormous impact on improving the condition of women in the province. With technology now widely recognized as a critical enabler for socio-economic development, this training will further promote the digital inclusion of women’’

These students from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University once trained can take advantage of the power of technology, can access locale-specific information, time-tested knowledge, market opportunities, enhanced skills for employment and productivity, and most importantly, participate in the modern knowledge era, not only as mere consumers, but also as providers and producers of knowledge assets.
